Kaliningrad Rail Terminal (Baltic Sea, Russia)
More than 30,000 meters of privately owned track with a simultaneous capacity of up to 580 train cars or 660 railway tanks or 570 grain hoppers:
- Railroad siding facilities from Shipovka Station of the Kaliningrad Railway to the Complex are 6,000 meters long;
- Three dead-end tracks and two receiving-and-departure tracks at the Shipovka Station;
- Eleven inner tracks ;
- Eight dead-end tracks of the transfer park.
The dead-end and inner tracks are outfitted with two electronic track scales with the capacity of up to 100 tons.
For transportation of all types of cargo they use in-house (leased) oil tanks, grain hoppers and covered railroad cars, which are serviced by three own locomotives.
Four areas of simultaneous loading and two unloading areas for bulk and liquid commodities:
- 1 handling facility for vegetable oil;
- 2 auger loaders for soy meal;
- 2 elevated approaches for covered cars;
- 1 area for unloading bulk grain cargoes.
The complex owns and operates its own three locomotives. It has as well its own railcars maintenance and cleaning facility.
