SODRUGESTVO INITIATES CONSTRUCTION OF NEW KALININGRAD PORT COMPLEX |
Kaliningrad Deep-Water Terminal Expansion
The proposed project entails the extension of existing deep-water sea port terminal facilities owned by Sodrugestvo and the construction of additional storage facilities for dry bulk cargo (soybeans for crushing as well as grain for export).
This would enable the Group to load and unload any kind of bulk products and vegetal oil and to quickly trans-ship them to other vehicles such as railcars and trucks. The facility will include:
- 5 new berths able to receive cargoes of up to 50,000 tons;
- Modern cargo handling machinery capable of processing different types of bulk and liquid cargo;
- Rail terminal capable of handling up to 5 million tons of bulk cargo a year;
- Warehousing facilities: silos for grain cargo storage; floor warehouses for bulk cargo storage; warehouses for general cargo storage.
The total capacity of the new terminal shall reach 3 million tons per year of dry bulk (grains in priority).
In addition to the existing capacity of the Sodrugestvo terminal, it will allow the company to transfer 5 million tons of dry bulk every year.
